Course Description
PRENATAL MASSAGE (6 Hour Course Only)
Making students aware of the anatomical, physiological and biochemical changes that occur in the woman during the nine months period of gestation as it relates to Massage Therapy. Students learn the benefits of prenatal massage, proper draping, proper scents, side posture, use of pillows and supplies, positioning, proper set up of table, back pain massage and stretching exercises. Students will be aware of the importance of knowing contraindications and the possibility of requiring a doctor’s permit prior to treatment. 2/3rds of the class is hands-on proper technique training.
ACUPRESSURE (6 HOUR COURSE ONLY)
Acupressure Massage – Students learn the benefits of, what is acupressure, what is Qi, what is a meridian, what is acupuncture and what is traditional Chinese medicine. Students will learn the contraindications, indications and anatomical locations. 2/3rds of the class is hands-on proper technique training.
