Course Description

 HOT STONE MASSAGE

Making students aware of the healing methods with Hot and Cold Stones by relieving pressure on the sinus cavities, headaches and TMG. Students will understand the history of stones, identify shapes of stones, knowing the difference in quality and purpose of Basalt, Marble and Chakra energy stones and where to administer the various sizes of stones on the body. Students will be taught the proper oils to use in preparation prior to administering procedure, proper draping, proper pressure techniques, set up of the room with proper supplies and hygienic clean up.  Students will also be aware of the importance of correct heating of the stones so as not to injure clients and recognizing contraindications, skin disorders and the possibility of client requiring a doctor’s permit prior to treatment. 2/3rds of the class is hands-on proper technique training.
